Overall a good meal. There are some rather peculiar issues though. For 3 of us, we ordered their tasting menu, and the portions that they served some of the dishes we found a bit strange.. For example, the Wagyu beef course was served as 2 large slices... We understand it's done by weight, but they could have probably helped us slice the beef into smaller pieces so it would have been earlier for us to share.. The fish ceviche had 5 slices of fish. Again, this was for 3 of us. Some dishes were also overly salty for my taste, but since the portions were small, it was fine..

Otherwise, the waiters were lovely and the atmosphere and seating was comfortable. So even a 3 hour dinner went by pretty quickly.

Here’s the English translation of your review:

Today, I visited this place, and the service was absolutely terrible. I wasn’t offered water or anything similar. The staff gave me judgmental looks, which made me feel very uncomfortable. This place makes you feel abandoned, as if money is all that matters, even though the restaurant isn’t the most expensive. It’s located in the heart of New York City, and I simply don’t understand why the staff can behave so poorly toward guests.

I wish this place would change because the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. The people serving you—whether at the bar making cocktails or elsewhere—seem to forget their roles. It’s like they’ve forgotten how to smile. I visited this place on Christmas, hoping to experience some holiday spirit, but unfortunately, my mood was completely ruined.

While sitting at my table with friends, trying to take photos and have fun, I constantly felt uncomfortable under their judgmental stares. They kept walking around, making it hard to enjoy the setting, even though the place itself is quite beautiful. We were seated right at the entrance, with the staff claiming there were no other tables available. However, when we walked upstairs and around the first floor, we saw plenty of empty spots.

I have no idea why we weren’t seated at a better table, as we were polite to the staff. The service was simply horrible. I never want to come back here again and never want to feel as awful as I did today.

Let me know if you’d like to adjust or add anything.

It's beautiful, extremely well thought out with attention to every detail. Service is unparalleled. But where each of the dishes seemed complex and made me really think about the flavors and textures, none made me glad I ordered them. After every bite both my partner and I said 'huh' never 'wow!' Or 'Yum!' Maybe that's the point.

Located on the second floor of the Ritz Carlton NoMad, The Bazaar is an outpost of Chef José Andrés’s Japanese-Spanish fusion restaurants. The restaurant is beautiful - dark blue and burgundy tones, modern with its marble table tops and feather-motif chandeliers, traditional with its array of old-world oil paintings. We had an early reservation to celebrate our anniversary, so the restaurant was still relatively empty, but it was pretty crowded by the time we left.

The menu is pretty large and most items are meant to be shared. Ordering can be tricky though as some dishes were tiny and amuse bouche-like (e.g. Ikura Royal Cone) while others were entrée size and very filling (e.g. Rossejat). If you’re not sure I would highly recommend that you ask for guidance from the waitstaff. Our waiter, Nicholas, did an excellent job and made sure that we did not order too much. We ended up ordering ten dishes (mostly small) and were concerned about the pacing of the meal, but the worries were unwarranted. The food came out in well-spaced waves making sure that we were not rushed, and we never had too many plates on the table at once.

Overall, we found the food to be superb - flavorful, thoughtfully constructed, and beautifully presented - everything we really expected from Chef Andrés restaurant. What made the entire experience really special though was that we asked the sommelier, Alex, to pair our food with sherry, and he did an outstanding job. We usually enjoy sherry as a digestif, so given that The Bazaar has quite a few sherries and pours them by the half-glass, we thought that this was a great opportunity for us to explore pairing sherry with food. The restaurant wasn’t very crowded, so Alex took the time to talk about each sherry and explain why he thought it would go well with our dish. His efforts really made our anniversary memorable and special. On a similar note, we thought that Nicholas was really superb as well. He was friendly, welcoming, professional, and thoughtful throughout the evening. We are truly grateful to both of them.

If you want to try highlights of their menu, the first floor Bazaar Bar serves some of the more popular, lighter dishes from the restaurant menu (I’ve added photos) and is a nice place to get a drink if you arrive early for your reservation. It does get crowded though, so that’s something to consider.

We are very glad that we chose The Bazaar for our anniversary dinner and would not hesitate to return.

Wow, what an experience! From the moment you step foot in the space, you know you’re about to experience something special. The decor-absolutely stunning. So many details to be appreciated, from the feathered light fixtures, to the artwork, to the tiled floors - there is beauty in every direction. Mind you, this is before you get your first drink or bite…

My friend and I did the tasting menu, which is always my favorite way to experience a restaurant. When I tell you every dish was phenomenal… EVERY DISH WAS PHENOMENAL. Presentation was top notch, flavors were out of this world. My friend can be a bit of a picky eater, but she loved every single thing brought to the table. My favorites would be the wagyu air bread (that manchego cheese espuma is to die for) and the bluefin tuna and fried egg. I cannot recommend this place enough. TREAT YOURSELF AND GOOOO.

Divine is the only word that comes to mind! Hands down, the best meal I’ve ever had in New York. Chef Viktor Rivera is a true artist. The carefully crafted mix of textures, spices and temperatures of the food was remarkable. Every bite was an explosion of flavour. Everything was presented in the most beautiful way. The service was excellent: everyone was kind and extremely knowledgeable about the ingredients, preparation and consumption. The interior design was very charming, somewhat reminding me of the Great Gatsby. It certainly is a love-letter to Japan.

@bazaarbyjose was a rare, and exceptional dining experience. Their 13 course tasting menu was fit for a king. From the lox w/ caviar to the aged steak w/ black truffles, everything was A1. If you’re in Vegas and looking for a signature meal, this is the place. Fit for a king!
